Underground Mine Tour and Stamp Mill Tour Information

Underground Mine Tour:

A guided underground tour of the gold mine leaves from the Visitor Center once an hour and lasts approximately 30-40 minutes.  The posted time for the next tour is available on the board behind the front desk.  The tour leaves from the Visitor Center, follows a 380 foot pathway to the front door and continues along 400 feet of underground mine tunnel which traverses tunnels 50 feet, or approximately 5 stories, from the surface.

There are stairs leading out of the back entrance of the mine; HOWEVER, if you are unable to climb stairs, a guide will walk you out the front door.  Be aware the stairs are steep and can be slippery.

Due to size of tunnels, we ask that you please leave strollers in the Visitor Center or at the front entrance to the mine.

Underground tunnels are not ADA compliant.

For questions about the mine itself, please refer to the FAQ button on the home page of kiosk.

Stamp Mill Tour:

The Stamp Mill is an optional tour offered at the conclusion of the Underground Mine Tour.  The Stamp Mill is not always available to be toured due to the fragile nature of the historic equipment.  The tour lasts approximately 25 minutes.

The Stamp Mill is ADA compliant.

For questions about the Stamp Mill itself, please refer to the FAQ button on the home page of kiosk.
